In an email to the community on Sunday, Oct. 27, Manno announced that he will be stepping down, with Assistant Superintendent Joel Adelberg replacing him during his leave.
"Unfortunately, I need to take some time away from this special place for medical leave," Manno said. "If you need assistance from the superintendent's office, please contact Mrs. Carole LaColla, executive assistant. She will direct you to the administrator who can help with whatever you may need," Manno said.
It is unclear how long Manno may be out, and said that the district is in good hands in his absence. Manno has been superintendent since 2016.
Manno said, “it is (his) hope to return strong and continue to work on behalf of our students and families.”
“BCSD is an outstanding school district with a capable and dedicated faculty and administration,” Manno said. “I am confident the district will be in good hands during my absence.”
